Melasma

Melasma is a skin problem which occurs as brown patches on the face of adults. Usually, both sides of the face get affected. It is usually present on the cheeks, bridge of nose, forehead, chin, and above the upper lip.

There are various factors that have shown to increase the risk of developing melasma like genetic predisposition, excessive sun exposure, thyroid diseases, pregnancy and use of oral contraceptive pills (OCPs) etc.
